Curriculum

T he Staff of KCS successfully teaches a quality traditionally structured curriculum integrated with scripturally related principles. Abeka forms the basis of our curriculum and is supplemented with Saxon Math. Biblical truths and values are part of every subject, from Science to Reading to History. The faculty members are certified and are dedicated Christians committed to sharing their faith with their students. With a low teacher-student ratio of 12 to 1, teachers find greater opportunity for individualized time and attention for each student.

A long with the development of Christian character, the curriculum especially emphasizes a phonics program of reading development and solid competency in mathematics. KCS students consistently score well above average in national norm achievement tests.

Enrichment

T o more fully equip students for successful Christian living, the academic curriculum is enhanced by a variety of programs and activities; among them, physical education classes, music, art, field trips, Jr. High basketball teams, science fair, computer classes, special assemblies, participation in competitions such as the national spelling bee, the national geography bee, the "Books-It" reading program and more. Many of these programs offer parents further opportunities to be involved with the school and their own children's growth and education.

Bible

T he study of the Bible is a very important subject at KCS. Students receive systematic instruction every day in their classroom, covering such subjects as Bible history, geography, prophecy and theology. The curriculum is designed to instill a love and knowledge of the Scriptures while revealing God's love to the student. In addition, the students assemble weekly for chapel, where students are lead in worship and teaching from God's Word. This is very special time for the students to get together and share their faith and enjoy excellent teaching and musical highlights.
