Kodiak Christian School

Administration and Staff

Marsha Farley - Administrative Assistant 1:  My family and I moved to Kodiak 2 years ago and we were so thrilled to have access to a Christian school.  It has been a wonderful experience to get involved with and to watch our children grow and change under the tutelage of Christian teachers.  I feel I have the best of both worlds, as I work in the office in the afternoons, which I thoroughly enjoy, and I am still available and close to my children as they go through their school day.

Karen Young

Karen Young - Administrative Assistant 2:  Associates degree in Marketing and Business from Fayetteville Community College, in North Carlina.  After 8 years of home schooling my children, this has been a great step back into the work force.  I love the Christian environment that I get to work in everyday.  I am very thankful for this wonderful school.

Rosa Wallace - Preschool 3 and 4 year-old; B.A. in Elementary Education and Bible, Gulf-Coast Bible College, Houston, TX. Taught one year in Michigan and since at KCS. The beauty of a Christian learning environment is being freely able to integrate godly principles and precepts in all the subject areas. God has a personal, vested interest in developing and equipping each child for the glory of the Kingdom to come.

Carol Steffensen - Kindergarten.   I graduated from Huron College in South Dakota in 1978. I am certified in Elementary Education and Special Education. I taught in South Dakota and Montana before coming to Alaska in 1983. Schools that I have taught at in Alaska include Old Harbor, Seldovia, and Port Lions. God has blessed my husband and me with three daughters, two sons, and one son-in-law. I enjoy my summers commercial fishing in Bristol Bay.

Leigh Sims - First and Second Grade: This is her third year at KCS.

Vicki Johnson - Third/Fourth Grade; I received a B.S. in Elementary Education from George Fox College, Newberg, OR and Oregon College of Education, Monmouth, OR.  This is my fifth year teaching at KCS, and I feel like the Lord led me to this school.  I love teaching these children and working with their parents.  I met my husband at George Fox College.  We have been married 33 years and have two daughters, one son, one daughter-in-law, two son-in-laws, and a grandson.

Lindsay Sublett - Fifth/Sixth Grade.  B.S.E. from the University of Central Arkansas with an emphasis on social studies and secondary education. I am thankful for the chance to live in Kodiak and even more so for the experience of teaching here at KCS. It is an awesome opportunity to teach in a Christian environment. I am thankful for every day I have with these wonderful kids.
